JACK WILSHERE has put David Beckham’s Inter Miami on red alert after it was revealed he is interested in a move to the MLS.
The West Ham midfielder, 27, is out of contract at the end of the 2020-21 season – by which time he will still only be 29-years-old.
Wilshere has put Inter Miami on red alert saying he’d be interested in a move to America
Now The Athletic are claiming a move to the US appeals to the ex-England international Wilshere.
Should he head across the pond, Wilshere would follow the likes of Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard in heading to the States.
While Inter Miami weren’t mentioned by name in the report, it’s fair to assume Beckham will be in for the ex-Arsenal star.
Earlier this week it was revealed Becks has been constantly on the phone, calling a hoard of household names as he aims to land a marquee signing for the club’s debut season.
And Wilshere’s latest comments will be a huge boost for the former England and Manchester United legend.
Wilshere is believed to be excited about the prospect of playing the game at a slower pace, while being out of the Premier League spotlight and back as the first name on the team-sheet.
The former Gunners youth product has seen his career crushed by injuries after showing so much early promise.
A move to the MLS could be just what he needs to recapture some form.
In his pomp, Wilshere earned 34 caps for England, scoring twice – both 20-yard screamers in the same game against Slovenia.
The midfielder spent a decade at Arsenal, racking up just 125 league appearances due to injuries.
After a loan spell at Bournemouth in 2016-17, Wilshere eventually left for West Ham permanently – where he’s been since 2018.
