England fans fume as James Maddison was overlooked AGAIN for Montenegro – with #SouthgateOut trending before 7-0 win

JAMES MADDISON was overlooked again by England boss Gareth Southgate – much to the disappointment of some supporters.

Maddison has been in stunning form for Leicester this season, helping the Foxes up to second place in the Premier League.

The 22-year-old has played a pivotal role in the Premier League for his side and had been made to wait for his first cap for his country despite being called up to the squad four times.

Maddison was again missing from Southgate’s starting line-up for the Euro 2020 qualifier against Montenegro, having to make do with a place on the bench.

Instead the Three Lions boss opted to draft in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain into his midfield along with youngster Mason Mount.

And that had some sections of the England supporters upset at the way Maddison has continued to be ignored.

Some have even gone as far as suggesting the manager should not be in his job, with #SoutgateOut amazingly trending.

But Southgate soon proved the doubters wrong – Oxlade-Chamberlain fired the Three Lions into the lead just 11 minutes in and after that England never let up.

In the 1,000th England game, they had FIVE goals before half-time, Harry Kane scoring a hat-trick in the first 45 minutes.

England secured their place at Euro 2020 next summer after eventually winning 7-0.

Aleksandar Sofranac scored a comedy own goal before Tammy Abraham scored his late on.

Maddison even got his debut.

The Leicester man came on ten minutes into the second half.
