As for the men’s first team, both awards were handed to midfielder Moises Caicedo.

Caicedo, who moved to Stamford Bridge in 2023 for £115m, has been a standout performer Chelsea this season and a crucial cog in Enzo Maresca’s machine.

His double swoop puts him in an exclusive club of Chelsea players that have won both the Players’ Player of the Season and the fan-voted Player of the Season awards in the same campaign.

He joins the likes of Cole Palmer, Thiago Silva and Eden Hazard on the list of double winners.

Chelsea won’t be able to celebrate for too long with the second leg of their Uefa Conference League semi-final against Djurgarden just around the corner.

The SW6 side are 4-1 up from their first-leg triumph and look all but certain to make the final in Poland with another win on Thursday night.
