CHRIS EUBANK SR has revealed that he had to be smuggled into a hotel wearing a disguise ahead of his emotional return to his son’s corner last weekend.

Eubank Sr, 58, shocked the world of boxing when he walked out to the ring alongside his son Chris Eubank Jr ahead of his family feud fight win over Conor Benn at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Nobody was expecting Eubank Sr to return to his son’s side for the fight after the pair had spent years without speaking to each other following a historical fallout.

While Eubank Sr had also actively spoken out against the Benn fight himself, urging his son not to reignite the 25-year rivalry that he and Nigel Benn had started back in the day.

However, the retired middleweight fighter couldn’t help but return and show his support for his son in front of the 65,000 fans inside the Spurs stadium.

And now Senior has revealed that he had to sneak into a hotel wearing a disguise to try and stop his surprise return from leaking ahead of the fight.

On his Call Chris Eubank YouTube channel, he revealed: “I said to Junior, ‘Where are you?’, and he explained that he was at the Park Plaza.

“So how am I going to get in? In my mind, you have the world’s media there. Everyone is going to be there. How am I going to get in? I put on a disguise.

“The disguise, when he saw me, he said, no one’s going to recognise you. You couldn’t see me.

“I had an Issey Miyake coat on, which is down to your, literally your ankles.

“The shoes I wore were plimsoles. They were trainers, they’re black.

“And Junior even said, ‘Wow, there’s no way anyone’s going to recognise you looking like that’.”

Eubank Sr went on to explain that reuniting with his son was like “the moon coming to earth”.

He added: “This is probably one of the most private things I can tell you, because it’s the truth. You have to understand the magnitude of this.

“Junior is not an emotional human being. He’s not emotional, and I’m talking about AT ALL. You would say ‘come on, within reason?’ – no.

So how am I going to get in? In my mind, you have the world’s media there. Everyone is going to be there. How am I going to get in? I put on a disguise.

“He sent me a message, and I can show you, he sent me a message. The message said ‘Glad you were here’.

“That’s like the moon coming to earth, coming to within a mile of the earth. It does not happen, he doesn’t do that.

“So what looks innocuous if you will to the eye that doesn’t understand, was a huge thing. Huge.”
