DOMINIC SOLANKE is back in the England squad.

The 27-year-old made his first – and only – appearance for the national team SEVEN years ago.

Since then, Solanke has teetered on the brink of a breakthrough.

But he is now firmly in contention, having impressed for Tottenham following his club-record £65million move from Bournemouth.

Solanke made his Three Lions debut against Brazil at Wembley Stadium in November 2017.

He came off the bench for a 25-minute cameo, replacing Jamie Vardy.

Back then, the England squad looked completely different.

The likes of Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, Kobbie Mainoo and Cole Palmer were still in school.

Ashley Young, Gary Cahill and Danny Rose were all squad regulars.

And goalkeeper Angus Gunn, who now has 13 caps for Scotland, had just earned his first senior call-up from Gareth Southgate.

England started the Brazil clash in a 5-3-2 formation, with Joe Hart in goal.

Four current England stars lined up in the back five – Kyle Walker, John Stones, Harry Maguire and Joe Gomez.

The defence was completed by former Southampton star Ryan Bertrand.

Bayern Munich defender Eric Dier captained the side from the heart of midfield.

He was joined by Jake Livermore and ex-Chelsea ace Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

And Premier League duo Marcus Rashford and Vardy led the line in attack.

Tammy Abraham, Jesse Lingard and Solanke were among the used substitutes.

The likes of Lewis Cook, Kieran Trippier and Jack Cork remained on the bench.

England were held to a drab 0-0 draw by Brazil in the November friendly.
