Prince William’s touching message cheering on England squad in Euros final as Three Lions battle to end 58 years of hurt

PRINCE William has cheered on the Three Lions as they prepare to face off against Spain at the Euro 2024 final.

The Prince of Wales will be at the Olmpiastadion Berlin for England’s historic match against the tournament favourites tomorrow.

Wrtiting a message of support today, which was posted on social media, William said: “We are so proud of you all @England, just one last push to finish the job!

“Go out there and show the world what you’re made of.

“We believe. W.”

The Lions secured their spot after beating the Netherlands with a last minute Ollie Watkins strike on Wednesday.

William had earlier described the winner as a “hell of a strike” as England came from a goal down to win 2-1.

Gareth Southgate’s men are the first England mens team to reach a major final on foreign soil.

William has been following the Lions’ progress with great interest, and was seen pumping his fist in the air to celebrate England’s thrilling penalty win against Switzerland.

The heir, 42, had called the epic win “nail biting to the very end” after he jetted over to join fans at the Dusseldorf Arena for the clash.

The roaring Prince of Wales was snapped celebrating Bukayo Saka’s triumphant penalty by throwing his fists in the air.

Wills’ attendance comes after the Prince of Wales, a passionate Aston Villa fan, presented shirts to the England men’s squad before the team left for Germany.

He made a surprise visit to St George’s Park, England’s national football centre in Burton upon Trent.

Wills also shared the advice of his youngest son Prince Louis’ – who said the players should “eat twice the amount” to secure their bid for Euros glory.

He had earlier this month apologised for his “hoarse” voice after the England men’s football team reached the Euro semi finals.

The Prince had praised the “hell of a goal” following England’s 2-1 win over the Netherlands.

He said: “I have a little moment when I thought ‘…he might do this’!? I was willing him on when he came on. It was a hell of a goal.”

Later in the event, as someone congratulated him on the result, he looked delighted but laughed: “I didn’t play last night, I can’t take credit for it.”

England’s route to the Euro 2024 final

England’s historic semi-final win over the Netherlands was perhaps the first time the nation’s long-suffering supporters saw why the Three Lions were one of the tournament favourites.

England now face an impressive Spain side who have looked hard to beat throughout the tournament.

In their semi-final against France the Spanish fell behind to an early header from Randal Kolo-Muani before their quality started shining through as they comfortably won to secure their place in Berlin.

There will, of course, be question marks for Southgate and his coaching staff coming into this match.

Despite Southgate being relatively consistent to this stage in terms of his team selection, we may well be reaching the point now where he will make a number of important changes to the team.

For England to have reached this stage of the tournament is impressive, and there can be no doubt that they have improved significantly as the tournament has gone on.

This will be their biggest test yet though as Spain have consistently been the fiercest side in the competition.
