AARON WAN-BISSAKA was accused of barely “jogging” as a Manchester United legend blamed the defender for Brentford’s equaliser.
And ex-keeper Peter Schmeichel claims that slackness in Saturday’s 1-1 Premier League draw typifies the Red Devils’ current “low standards”.
Schmeichel reckons left-back Wan-Bissaka lost focus – enabling Ivan Toney to stay onside ahead of Kristoffer Ajer’s 99th-minute leveller.
It came after a lengthy hold-up for a head injury to AWB’S fellow United full-back Diogo Dalot meant 14 minutes were added on.
Mason Mount put the Red Devils in front deep into that stoppage time before Ajer earned the dominant Bees a point.
Schmeichel, a member of United’s 1999 Treble winners, couldn’t believe how badly the Red Devils defended their lucky lead.

The 120-cap Dane told SuperSport: “If you look at Wan-Bissaka on the Brentford goal, and this is what I mean by standards.
“Wan-Bissaka is out there to the left, the ball gets crossed and now look at him. He’s walking off, walking, walking, he’s jogging!
“And Ivan Toney would have been offside had he followed the back-four line up and then that goal wouldn’t have happened.”
“Look at him [Wan-Bissaka] coming out! Look at it!

“That’s not Manchester United, that’s not pride, that’s not high standards. That’s not focussing on what your job is.
“He has cost – not to blame him for this – but in that moment, because of what he did, or didn’t do, a simple thing like concentrating, they equalised.”

Old Trafford boss Erik ten Hag’s future still seems unsure, with United sixth – eight points above Tottenham immediately above them.
And Schmeichel, now 60, believes the club are betraying the expectations during Alex Ferguson’s golden reign from 1996-2013.
He said: “The standards are low. We [Schmeichel and fellow pundit Andy Cole] grew up with Sir Alex Ferguson at the club and you had to be proud of what you did on the pitch.
“We could lose 1-0 and he would say that was fine because the performance was there.”
