Harry Kane’s horror stats at Bayer Leverkusen revealed as even MANUEL NEUER gets closer to goal in title clash

HARRY KANE had a game to forget on Saturday.

Bayern Munich suffered a 3-0 defeat to Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen, putting Xabi Alonso’s side firmly in control of the title race.

Josip Stanisic broke the deadlock in the 18th minute before Alex Grimaldo doubled Leverkusen’s advantage just after half time.

Jeremie Frimpong then scored a fantastic solo goal to seal the win in added time.

But while Bayer Leverkusen ran riot, Kane – who joined Bayern Munich in a £104million transfer from Tottenham last summer – barely had a look-in at goal.

The striker was limited to just one shot and 18 touches on the ball.

He also failed to create a single chance.

And to arguably make matters worse, goalkeeper Manuel Neuer even got closer to the opposition net.

The 37-year-old registered one touch six yards out from Bayer Leverkusen’s goal after coming up for a corner late in the game, while Kane managed just a single touch in the box.

Bayern Munich’s hopes of winning another Bundesliga title have now suffered a huge dent.

He told Sky Sports Germany: “There are of course some symptoms on the pitch. To be honest, I’m p**sed off.

“To quote Oliver Kahn: What I miss from us players are the balls in the game. We are showing significantly better approaches in training. It’s okay to feel pressure, but there needs to be energy and freedom. That’s missing in our game.”

He added: “Sometimes we have to speak about us players. It’s not just about the coach.

“We have many international players at the highest level, we need to step up our game.”
