Some rounds of the FA Cup continue to use replays to decide ties

Will there be replays for the FA Cup fifth round?

FA Cup replays have become a huge part of English football’s most famous cup competition.

And there have been extensive changes in recent years regarding whether they are included.

In the 2020-21 and the 2021-22 season, all replays were scrapped due to fixture congestion.

But they were brought back for the  third and fourth rounds of the 2022-23 campaign.

However, there will be NO replays in the fifth round which means that all encounters will be concluded on the night

Will there be extra-time and penalties?

Yes! Extra-time and penalties are available if two teams cannot be separated during their FA Cup tie after 90 minutes.

There will be 30 minutes of extra-time played and if the ties are still level, the winner will progress through a penalty shootout.
