MICAH RICHARDS has claimed Sergio Aguero “lied” throughout his entire time in the Premier League – and he “got away with it”.
The two men were team-mates at Manchester City and won the title together back in 2012.
Richards eventually departed the Etihad in 2015 for Aston Villa following a loan spell at Fiorentina, but the Argentine striker stayed and cemented his status as one of the club’s greatest-ever players.
Aguero was unable to produce a fairytale ending to his Man City career as he left the Champions League final field in tears after defeat to Chelsea in 2021.
But he left a City legend as he departed as the club’s record scorer with 260 goals in all competitions in 389 appearances.
Aguero also won 12 major pieces of silverware, including five league titles, before joining Barcelona on a free transfer.

After Lineker stated he had interviewed him once in Spanish as Aguero’s English was not great, Richards replied: “This is the thing Gary – Aguero was lying.

“When they were asking him to do interviews, he was saying ‘I don’t speak English’. But he spoke brilliant English.
“He knew exactly what the slang terms were, all the terminologies, and of course, speaking with your friends and having an interview is two entirely different things, but he just played on that so much.
“He got away with it. Muggins like me, James Milner, Joleon Lescott, all the English lads had to do the media because Kun just said he didn’t speak no English.”
