ERLING HAALAND obliterated another Premier League record as he reached 50 goals quicker than any other player in the competition’s history.
The Manchester City striker, 23, broke the deadlock for the champions against Liverpool on Saturday lunchtime.
It marked his 50th league for Pep Guardiola’s side – and it has taken him just 48 games.
That is 17 fewer than any Premier League player that has come before him.
The closest to Haaland is Manchester United legend Andy Cole – who bagged his first 50 goals in 65 appearances.
The Englishman went on to score 187 times in the Premier League after netting 24 in the First Division.

Next on the list after Cole is Alan Shearer who completed the feat in 66 games, followed by Ruud van Nistelrooy, Fernando Torres and Mo Salah.
But there is no telling how many Haaland will finish on when he eventually leaves Manchester.
Last season, he broke the Premier League record for most goals in a single campaign, scoring 36 times in 38 games during his first campaign in England.
He was an integral part of Man City’s incredible 2022/23 season which saw them become only the second English side after Man Utd to win the Treble.

And he has maintained that level at the start of the 2023/24 season, netting 14 times in 13 matches.
His career tally for club and country now stands at 232 goals in 282 games.
But Man City were fearful he may miss their clash with Liverpool after picking up an injury while on international duty with Norway.
However, Haaland confirmed on social media on Friday that he would feature in the match when he tweeted: “See you tomorrow! 🔜”
