MANCHESTER UNITED fans were less than impressed with the club’s light show at Old Trafford and some were even concerned for the roof.
The Red Devils played their WSL clash with rivals Man City at the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday evening.
The 113-year-old old stadium has been nicknamed the “Theatre of nothing” in recent times and is in dire need of some attention.
However that didn’t stop the club from trying to get the atmosphere going ahead of the match with a makeshift light show.
The floodlights attached to the roof of the ground began flashing as smoke was released from the tunnel area and flags were waved in the crowd.
Some fans weren’t impressed by the illuminations as they gave scathing reviews on social media.

While another added: “They duct taped some flashlights on the roof and called it a light show.”
A third commented: “They’re just switching the lights on and off at the mains.”
And a fourth chimed in saying: “I’m stunned that our stadium can do that.”

To make matters worse Man Utd were well beaten by their fierce foes with City taking all three points in a 3-1 win.
There’s already been problems at Old Trafford this season with supporters at the club’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace soaked by a leaky roof.
And some fans even joked that Sunday’s sub-par lighting display was as a result of the leaks.
One wrote: “That water on the electrics is causing havoc.”
With another adding: “Looks like the leak in the roof has gotten into the mains board.”
Red Devils fans will be hoping there will be improvements on the horizon for their historic stadium though.
Incoming minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is understood to be ready to pump nearly £250MILLION into the club in order to improve the infrastructure.
