That is the couple’s second child after they welcomed daughter Olivia into the world three years ago.

Sharing several cute snaps of him and his family with the baby, he wrote on instagram: “’Benjamin Fernandez, 26/10/23. I love you forever.”

However, the 22-year-old is missing for Chelsea’s clash with Brentford at Stamford Bridge this lunchtime.

And they will be looking to take the sting out of the Bees in West London – but they must do it without Fernandez in midfield.

And winger Mykhaylo Mudryk is also missing from the Chelsea squad to leave Mauricio Pochettino without two of the club’s most expensive-ever signings.

Poch has made three changes to the side that drew 2-2 at home to Arsenal last weekend.

Malo Gusto also drops out of the starting XI, with Nicolas Jackson, Axel Disasi and Noni Madueke returning.

Fernandez is believed to have been struggling with a muscle overload in the build-up to the game anyways before the patter of tiny feet.

This is the first top-flight match he has not started since arriving at Chelsea.

He and Valentina started dating in 2019 and she has followed him from River Plate in their homeland to Portugal in 2022.

However, their stay there with Benfica only lasted around six months as Chelsea brought him, and the rest of his family, to London in January for £107m just weeks after he had helped Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar.
