AARON RAMSDALE has been left out of the matchday squad for Arsenal’s derby clash with Chelsea today.
The England shot-stopper is nowhere to be seen in Mikel Arteta’s squad, but it’s safe to say he has a valid reason.
Despite Ramsdale losing his place in between the sticks to new arrival David Raya in recent weeks, that’s not why he hasn’t travelled with his teammates.
Instead the 25-year-old missed out on the game after his wife Georgina gave birth to their first child.
The official Arsenal X account updated fans with the reasoning behind Ramsdale’s absence and congratulated him on becoming a father.
The post read: “Aaron Ramsdale misses out on today’s squad after his wife Georgina gave birth to a baby boy. Congratulations both.”

Youngster Karl Hein has stepped in for his teammate and will occupy his space on the bench while Raya starts the match for the Gunners.
Ramsdale recently tied the knot with Georgina after they had been been together since 2019.
The pair began dating while the Arsenal star was plying his trade at AFC Wimbledon and have been inseparable since.
Georgina, 27, is a British Airways flight attendant and said yes to her now husband’s proposal back in August of last year.
