Messi scored twice to fire La Albiceleste to their fourth consecutive win in the World Cup qualifiers.

But arguably his most impressive moment of the match came when he stunned two opposition players with some incredible skill.

After receiving the ball in his team’s half, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner turned his marker four times before breaking away.

The opposition player slipped in the process before getting back to his feet and applying pressure on the winger once again.

Another defender then joined in, but Messi twisted and turned his way out of the situation before breaking forward on the attack.

Fans took to social media to react, with one person writing: “You’d have swore this was a clip from a decade ago honestly its crazy stuff.”

Another added: “Making a guy slip twice. Goat things.”

A third said: “He’s straight up destroying people like it’s nothing.”

A fourth exclaimed: “SOMEONE REMIND THIS GUY HE’S 36 YEARS OF AGE!”

While another joked that Messi had “sent his opponent for a hot dog”.

Messi is currently the favourite to win this year’s Ballon d’Or following his World Cup triumph in December.

Should he claim the title, it will be his eighth time picking up the iconic gold trophy.
