KALVIN PHILLIPS has been lavished with praise after his kind gesture towards a young fan.
Phillips, 27, was named in Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad for the upcoming friendly against Australia and Euro 2024 qualifier versus Italy.
The Manchester City star reported for training at St George’s Park on Monday alongside his team-mates ahead of Friday’s clash with the Aussies.
While at the training centre, Phillips took some time out to greet eager fans and sign some autographs.
However, a fan video showed one young supporter wanting more than a simple autograph.
After asking Phillips to sign a book of his, the supporter then asked the midfielder to play a game of rock paper scissors.

Phillips duly obliged, but was initially shocked to learn the fan made his decision on “shoot”.
Once that was cleared up, the pair resumed the game, both throwing up paper on their first go.
They then drew the same on their second and third attempts with rock, before a fourth go saw them both go with paper.
The fifth go finally drew a winner, with Phillips going for scissors to cut the young fan’s paper.

In a lovely gesture, a beaming Phillips then took off his training top and handed his shirt to the young fan.
The video was captioned: “Kalvin Phillips definitely gets it ❤️.
“We had the privilege of going to meet the England players after training at St George’s Park & @Kalvinphillips made sure FBB young person Mlu had a moment he’ll never forget ❤️.”
Responding to the vid, one fan online said: “Such a good human being, I think this is why us Leeds fans take it somewhat personally when others go in on him.”
A second wrote: “He is a quality young man.”
A third added: “Seems a really good lad, hoping he gets a move in the window to a club that will use him.”
Phillips’ future is uncertain at the minute, with his struggles for game time at City seeing him linked with a transfer elsewhere.
Reports suggest this move could come as soon as January, with City said to be exploring options for a loan move.
Everton are one party linked with Phillips following their takeover by 777 Partners, while Newcastle could reignite their interest after enquiring about the ex-Leeds man in the summer.
