BAYER LEVERKUSEN manager Xabi Alonso has a release clause in his contract that only three clubs can activate, according to reports.
The Spaniard has taken his side to the Bundesliga summit after seven games this season.
Leverkusen lead the way ahead of Stuttgart and reigning champions Bayern Munich after picking up six wins and one draw.
His success is likely to attract attention but Leverkusen are hopeful of keeping ahold of the former midfielder, who is under contract until 2026.
However, Bild report three clubs could activate a release clause in his contract – Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Alonso, 41, played for all three clubs during his career and won silverware with each, including the Champions League at Liverpool.

The report adds the trio of clubs will only be able to activate the clause from next summer.
Fortunately for Leverkusen, none of the three clubs are expected to change manager anytime soon, with Klopp under contract at Liverpool until 2026.
Thomas Tuchel only took charge at Bayern earlier this year, and while Carlo Ancelotti came under pressure for not winning a trophy with Real last season, his position at the club is still safe.
Alonso was believed to be on the radar of Tottenham in the summer before they appointed instant fan-favourite Ange Postecoglou.

He reacted to the speculation by stating he was fully committed to Leverkusen.
Alonso said: “I’ve been in football for many years, rumours are normal but we still have a lot to achieve.
“That’s why my head is 100 per cent here for the last few months.
“And my head is also 100 per cent here for next season.”
