James Maddison hailed for ‘keeping s***housery alive’ with savage post to Trent Alexander-Arnold on England duty

JAMES MADDISON has trolled Trent Alexander Arnold in his latest Instagram story as the two linked up on England duty.

Maddison posted a picture with the Liverpool star of the two in discussion in the England weight room.

Maddison teased Alexander Arnold over his manager’s calls for a replay

And Maddison captioned the post with: “Still asking for a replay”

The story refers to how Jurgen Klopp said he thought Tottenham vs Liverpool should be replayed after Luis Diaz had a perfectly good goal ruled out for offside after a VAR error.

Klopp said ahead of last week’s Europa League clash with Union Saint-Gilloise: “I say this not as manager of Liverpool but as a football person – I think the only outcome should be a replay. Probably will not happen.”

Spurs fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, certainly enjoyed Maddison’s banter towards his England team-mate.

One fan posted: “Good s***housery is a dying art form and I’m glad we have someone to keep it alive.”

Another wrote: “I love him.”

And a third wrote: “Very refreshing to see. Makes a change from copy and paste captions from their agent.”

The two Premier League stars are part of a 26-man squad for England’s games against Australia and Italy.

Bukayo Saka withdrew from the squad yesterday despite initially linking up with the team owing to a hamstring injury he suffered against Lens.

The winger missed Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City on the weekend after a record of 87 consecutive Premier League starts for Arsenal.

A replacement has not been called up by Southgate in Saka’s place.

England’s fixture against Australia on Friday is a friendly but their clash with Italy next Tuesday is a European qualifier which if they win, could see them book their place at Euro 2024 already.
