FOOTBALL fans have praised Lionel Messi’s bodyguard for giving a young fan an unforgettable matchday moment.
Inter Miami missed out on a place the MLS playoffs on Saturday following a 1-0 defeat to FC Cincinnati.
After the match, a young fan broke onto the pitch and made a beeline for Messi, who was beginning to walk back to the tunnel.
But the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s bodyguard stopped him in his tracks.
Yassine Chueko, the former US soldier personally selected by Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham to protect his star player, then allowed the young fan to take a picture with Messi before escorting him off the field.
Fans took to social media to react to the heartwarming moment, with one person tweeting: “Awww! A good bodyguard there!”

Messi’s bodyguard is a former Navy Seal with experience in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He is also trained in martial arts and has fought in many MMA bouts.
