DANIEL RICCIARDO has showed off a brutal scar after going under the knife to repair his broken hand.
The AlphaTauri driver sustained the injury when he crashed during free practice at the Dutch Grand Prix.
Ricciardo was swiftly flown to Barcelona for his surgery and is now in the midst of the recovery process.
Ricciardo kept fans in the loop after the operation, writing on Instagram: “Hey everyone. Had surgery this morning, got my first bit of metal work so that’s pretty cool.
“Big thanks to everyone who reached out and kept my spirits up. This ain’t a setback, just all part of the comeback.”
And he has today provided fans with another update, showing off his gnarly scar alongside the caption: “Relatively unchanged.”
