FOOTBALL fans have been left baffled after Dimitri Payet completed his move to Brazilian side Vasco da Gama.
West Ham legend Payet, 36, left Marseille in June after six and a half years with the club.
As a free agent, he was linked with fellow French sides Nantes and Nice, as well as a move to Saudi Arabia.
But he has ended up penning a pre-contract agreement with South American outfit Vasco da Gama.
And many punters are confused as to why he has chosen the Brazilian side.
One said: “Very random transfer, this one.”

A third added: “Wow 😯. Vasco De Gama”.
And a fourth responded: “Never would have put him to that club, it’s a weird one.”
Payet arrived at West Ham from Marseille in 2015.

And he played another 243 games for the club, netting 63 goals.
He has also earned 38 caps for the France national team, scoring eight times.
