The 30-year-old has been on Erik ten Hag’s departure list this summer – as he continues to rebuild his midfield.

United value Fred slightly higher than £13m, but they will be happy to get things moving with the end of the transfer window nearing.

Ten Hag will want to cash in on Fred to help fund new arrivals.

West Ham have recently agreed a £30m fee for United and England centre-back Harry Maguire.

United could combine these funds and finally bid for their top midfield target this summer Sofyan Amrabat.

The Red Devils were reportedly ‘closing in’ on the Morrocan international ahead of European giants PSG and Athletico Madrid.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 26-year-old has said ‘yes’ to Man United and wants the move.

United will send the bid as soon as either Fred or Donny Van de Beek leaves.

Fenerbahce looked to have got ahead of Fulham who were the first to express interest.

The West London side have reportedly restarted talks with United after a first bid was rejected earlier this summer.

Fulham have been active this transfer window signing Raul Jimenez from Wolves and 22-year-old centre back Calvin Bassey from Ajax.

Fred could reunite with his fellow Brazilian team-mate Andreas Pereira who made 33 appearances for Fulham last season.
