His hair transformation came after he had showed off his messy barnet on Thursday morning.

Drinkwater uploaded a selfie featuring his out of control curls to his Instagram story and wrote: “Good morning…”

He then followed it up with a clip of himself after getting the clippers out.

Having completely shaved the top of his head, Drinkwater turned to show the remaining hair on the sides and back.

His new look left him in hysterics as he joked: “New look?” along with a series of crying laughing emojis.

It is unclear whether the 33-year-old’s new haircut will remain or if it will help him find a club this summer.

Drinkwater has been a free agent since leaving Chelsea last summer, having joined the Blues a year after winning the Premier League with Leicester in 2016.

During his five years at Stamford Bridge, Drinkwater made just 23 appearances and was loaned out four different times.

“If that’s something they are interested in then I’m game. I think bringing players like Benzema, Ronaldo and Kante to the country is massively attractive for other professionals as well.
