Fans only just realising Robbie Keane’s cousin is a music LEGEND as icon wears his football shirt in support at gig

FANS have been rocked to discover pop legend Morrissey is Robbie Keane’s cousin.

The singer donned a Maccabi Tel-Aviv shirt at a gig – in support of ex-Tottenham striker Keane taking charge of the Israeli giants.

The former Liverpool and Ireland hitman, 43, has been out of the game since 2018, when he briefly bossed Indian club ATK.

Now that Keane is back he can breathe a sigh of relief and say, as Morrissey almost did: “Heaven knows I’m with the ball now”.

Many supporters, however, admitted they were amazed to only just find out the pair have such a close connection.

One said: “Whaaaat” and a second was just as open-mouthed: “Wait, they are related?”

A third recovered from the shock to put together a longer outburst: “How did this factoid pass me by? I can see the resemblance now.”

And a fourth even hailed the revelation as “breaking news!”

Morrissey, 64, was at his most famous in the 1980s, with Mancucian group The Smiths, before becoming a solo singer/song-writer.

In contrast, cousin Robbie emerged as a teen hit a decade later.

Keane also bagged 68 goals in 146 games for the Republic of Ireland.

Yet it seems few  knew his musical connection until now – leaving fans, jut like wordsmith Morrissey, waxing lyrical.
