FANS have been left unimpressed after Barnsley released their new ‘MLS’ kit.
The League One outfit revealed their home shirt for the upcoming season but shocked some fans with the American themes.
The red fading to white shirt features six stars on the shoulders and chest which are similar to stars on the USA flag.
While the sponsor of the shirt, US Mobile, also includes an eagle and a logo similar to the American flag.
Fans have been left fuming as they slammed it on social media.
One tweeted: “Looks like Captain America designed the shirt.”

A third wrote: “That’s got to be a wind-up, that’s actually horrendous.”
A fourth said: “Barnsley are playing in the MLS next season lol.”
A fifth added: “Are they playing in the McDonald’s league.”

While a sixth declared: “Never seen a shirt as bad as this.”
However, some were quick to point out that the shirt is a nod to the club’s kit from 1986.
The vintage shirt also features the stars on the top half as well as the red and white colours.
One fan pointed out: “A definite nod to the 1989 vintage…”
The new edition has been designed in collaboration with renowned designer Colm Dillane from Kid Super and Director Julie Anne Quay along with Puma.
