Amad Diallo ‘chooses next club’ as Man Utd future lies in the balance with transfer decision imminent

AMAD DIALLO has reportedly made a decision regarding his future after a successful loan spell in the Championship.

The Manchester United youngster spent last season at Sunderland where he shone as they came close to gaining promotion back to the top flight.

Amad Diallo had a great loan spell in the Championship with Sunderland and even scored in the play-off semi-final

Diallo’s future has been up in the air since their play-off semi-final loss to Luton, but it has now been reported that he has made his decision on what he wants.

According to the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Diallo is hoping for a chance in the first team at Manchester United next season.

However it is said that if Erik ten Hag would prefer the 20-year-old go back out on loan then he would like to return to the North East with Sunderland.

The decision lies with the United boss who is looking for attacking reinforcements in the transfer market this summer.

The report suggests that Ten Hag will make his decision on the forward in the coming weeks.

Diallo managed 13 league goals and three assists in the Championship last season as The Black Cats finished in sixth place.

He scored in the 2-1 playoff first-leg against the Hatters, before Sunderland were beaten on aggregate.

The Ivory Coast international joined Man Utd back in January 2021 for a deal worth up to £37million, but has only made nine appearances for the first team since.

The Red Devils are currently active themselves in the market with reports suggesting they are readying a new bid for Chelsea’s Mason Mount.

The Manchester club are also rumoured to be interested in Declan Rice, but it would appear he is more likely to make the move to one of Arsenal or Manchester City instead.

United have been linked with Harry Kane as they look to sign a top-class striker, but Spurs are reported to be holding firm on not selling their star man.

Rasmus Hojlund and Victor Osimhen have also been suggested as options for ten Hag’s side, but both will demand huge transfer fees from the current clubs.
