A FOOTBALL match in was abandoned after the pitch markings disappeared from the field THREE TIMES.
The game was taking place in Brazil’s third division between CSA and Aparecidense at the Estadio Rei Pele.
Torrential rain during the game caused the bizarre problem of the field lines continually being erased from the pitch.
Despite groundstaff repainting the lines three times the game had to be abandoned and will instead be replayed tomorrow at midnight UK time.
Brazilian fans were in stitches reacting to the strange set of events with one person saying: “One more from the series ‘things that only happen in Brazilian football!’ 😂😂”
Another said: “Even nature didn’t want this game to happen.”

A third added: “Only in Brazil 😭😭”
While a fourth said: “If this is not rock bottom, nothing else is.”
CSA, who were playing at home, would have been ruing their misfortune with the weather.
Aparecidense sit bottom of the Brazilian Serie C and a win for CSA would have seen them lift themselves into the league’s playoff positions.

Despite a number of fans being present at the stadium, the game was unable to start even once.
A fan on Twitter gave a report of the situation inside the stadium, saying: “9:12pm End of game without having started the game – without any signage on the field or sound warning in the stadium.
“Rain came back, erased some of the lines, referee took too long to start.
“CSA X Aparecidense must be tomorrow – if there is a marked line on the lawn.”
