MANCHESTER UNITED’S first transfer of the summer has been “confirmed” with Kim Min-jae set to sign.
The Napoli defender “will join on July 1” with his Old Trafford wages also revealed.
United have been strongly linked with the 26-year-old this summer as Erik ten Hag looks to bolster his defence.
However, the Red Devils faced competition from Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle United, who had looked to hijack their deal.
Kim’s current club Napoli even attempted to block the move after reportedly offering him a new deal in a bid to remove his release clause.
According to reports in Italy, though, United have won the race for the South Korea international’s signature.

Il Mattino report that Kim has agreed to sign for United and will join the club on July 1.
The report adds that he has “accepted” the club’s contract offer of £9million-per-year, which equals around £175,000-per-week.
Kim enjoyed a breakthrough debut season in Italy last term after joining Napoli from Fenerbahce in 2022.
He made 45 appearances as Luciano Spalletti’s side romped to a first Serie A title for 33 years.

Kim’s arrival as United’s first summer signing will likely be followed by more business at Old Trafford.
The club remain in talks over a move for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.
Ten Hag’s side are now the frontrunners to sign Mount after Liverpool admitted defeat in their pursuit of the 24-year-old.
