OWEN MOXON achieved his dream by winning promotion with boyhood club Carlisle just a year after working as a delivery driver.
Carlisle’s midfield star was part of the celebrations a month ago as the Blues beat Stockport at Wembley Stadium.
For Moxon, it was a monumental rise as 12 months ago, he was working part-time as a UPS driver while playing in Scotland’s fourth tier with Annan Athletic.
He told the EFL: “Honestly, it’s absolutely mad.
“I hated working on the mechanics scheme, so I just left and became a delivery driver for a while alongside football. I can’t believe it was only a year ago, but thankfully it’s worked out.
“Football is everything to me.

“Whether I was getting paid to play or not, I always just wanted to play it, so playing part-time in Scotland was everything to me at the time and was an experience I’m grateful for.
“Working and playing was really hard, but it just shows how much I wanted it and how much I still believed in myself to eventually make it back to full-time.
“Yes, it took some time. I’ve had a different path, but I’m doing it now and that’s all that matters. Hopefully, this is just the start.”
The 25-year-old grew up as a fan of Carlisle and was in the club’s youth academy up until 2014 when he was released.

Moxon admitted that the news was “heart-breaking” and that he cried to his mum and dad because he had always wanted to play for the club.
He remained determined to make it in football and after leaving school, he moved to Scotland and signed for Queen of the South, where he spent three years before moving to Annan Athletic.
The club was managed by Carlisle United legend Peter Murphy and after five years, he and current Blues boss Paul Simpson helped Moxon move back to his boyhood club.
The midfielder jumped at the opportunity to return home and has managed to help the team climb out of League Two in his first season.
Moxon was instrumental in getting the club promoted as he netted six goals and provided 16 assists in 48 league appearances.
