And that confirmed City’s status as champions for the third successive season.

Arsenal’s collapse from an eight-point title lead has earned them a place in the all-time list of Premier League title blow-ups.

They even broke the record as the side leading the top-flight for the longest time in a season without winning it.

Arsenal topped the Prem for an incredible 248 days but have still ended up potless.

Fans have been mocking Mikel Arteta’s side for “bottling it” on social media over recent days.

Now, incredibly, an alleged former player of the club has joined in.

Legendary long-time Arsenal club photographer Stuart MacFarlane revealed on Instagram: “Tough evening in Nottingham but ultimately very proud of what the players and staff have achieved this season.

“Getting trolled on my DMs by an ex-reserve player for us not winning the league is hilarious, will he ever grow up and move on… I doubt it #baby.”

Although MacFarlane remained tight-lipped on the identity of the mystery player, fans were desperate to know as they jumped into the comments section.

“Stuart should expose him for his childishness,” wrote one.

A fellow Gooner said: “He must still be bitter about not being good enough for the Arsenal.”

While another wrote: “Should’ve named and shamed him so we could laugh at him.”
