SKY SPORTS have spoken to Martin Tyler after he was slammed for appearing to make an inappropriate comment that could be considered racist on live television.
The incident occurred during Liverpool’s 4-3 win over Tottenham on Sunday.
As South Korean Spurs forward Son Heung-min tackled Cody Gakpo Tyler was heard comparing his challenge to “martial arts”.
Fans watching at home slammed Tyler and Sky Sports have confirmed the veteran commentator has been spoken to over his choice of language.
A spokesperson told The Sun: “Martin Tyler has been reminded of need for care with his wording while on the air.”
Fans were quick to criticise Tyler over his comparison with some calling on the 77-year-old to apologise or even retire.
