JULIAN NAGELSMANN’s similarity to Thomas Tuchel is one of the reasons Chelsea turned away from the German boss, reports say.
The former Bayern Munich manager is believed to no longer be in the running for the top job at Stamford Bridge.
Mauricio Pochettino is now the favourite for the role with Vincent Kompany and one other unknown candidate still in the running.
But since Graham Potter’s sacking, many considered Nagelsmann to be the frontrunnner for the job.
It came as a surprise to some fans to discover that the 35-year-old head coach was no longer under consideration.
The Independent report that the Chelsea hierarchy deemed him “too like Tuchel”, the manager that the Todd Boehly-led hierarchy had already dismissed.

Tuchel has since gone on to replace Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich, while Nagelsmann is also believed to be open to an approach from Tottenham.
He is reported to think that he would not be able to achieve the level of success he wanted in Chelsea structure’s.
And is reported to not have been particularly keen on taking over in west London.
Spurs could be one of several vacancies of big European clubs this summer, with question marks hanging over the future of PSG boss Christophe Galtier and Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid.
