Watch Ben Foster’s hilarious response as a stunned Ryan Reynolds says ‘you’re too old for that’ following penalty save

BEN FOSTER admitted he got CRAMP from a 97th-minute penalty save as he swapped fun revelations with Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds.

The ex-England keeper, 40, was labelled “too old” by Hollywood star Reynolds as the pair joked, embraced and debriefed following Saturday’s momentous 3-2 win over Notts County.

Wrexham are now odds-on to return to the Football League following arguably the biggest match in National League history.

And when the pair met in the tunnel, Deadpool actor Reynolds called the game’s climax “the most dramatic thing I’ve ever seen”.

Foster brilliantly kept out Cedwyn Scott’s last-gasp spot-kick to preserve a comeback victory.

It leaves Wrexham on a huge 103 points, three more than County – with the fifth-tier’s two dominant teams scoring 217 goals between them.

Reynolds, who bought the Welsh club with movie pal Rob McElhenney, greeted former Watford ace Foster with: “Oh my God! You son of a b***!

“What was that about? You’re too old for that!”

Referring to his full-length penalty tip-away, a smiling Foster revealed: “I got cramp when I got up!”

Reynolds fired back: “I bet you did!”

Eight-cap Foster came out of retirement last month to play for Wrexham “for peanuts” when they had a short-term goalkeeping problem.

And he added: “My calf cramped as I got up.”

Reynolds responded: “What the F***! That was just bananas!

“That was the most dramatic thing I’ve ever seen in my life!”

Despite his long career at the top, including spells with Manchester United, Birmingham and West Brom, Foster insisted the pressure of the moment, in front of 9,924 fans in Wales, had been unique even to him.

He said: “I’ve never felt like that before.”

Reynolds revealed he’d been too nervous to watch the spot-kick – but turned round just in time to see Foster throwing himself to his right to deny County a draw.

The Canadian, whose Deadpool 3 film is scheduled to come out in November 2024, claims the match has changed him forever.

He said: “I’ll never feel the same again.”
