LOVE ISLAND star Tom Clare is ready to return to Macclesfield FC after eight weeks away on the reality TV show.

The 23-year-old made it all the way to the final and finished third alongside partner Samie Elishi.

And he seems to have no plans to ditch his career as a striker in the eighth tier of English football.

Clare hopes his new fame can help his club bring in more money and gain more attention.

He told Sky Sports: “It’s good for Macclesfield, it is a huge club anyway. Hopefully I can bring more fans to the gate, it is all revenue for the club.

“The work that people do behind-the-scenes is incredible and if I can bring more fans to the gate, maybe a few shirts with ‘Samie No9’ on the back, if I can do that, then I will be buzzing.

Clare,23, has become the poster boy of Macclesfield and he was used to promote their match at the weekend versus Runcorn Linnets, which they won 3-2.

The Silkmen sit a huge 13 points clear at the top of the Northern Premier League Division One West.

Macclesfield aim to work their way back to the EFL after they liquidated in 2020.
