MANCHESTER CITY star Julian Alvarez has signed a new long-term contract.
The youngster has impressed since his summer move to The Etihad and he even became a world champion with Argentina in December.
He has shown a lot of promise with ten goals and three assists in 30 games, and City have rewarded him with a one-year contract extension.
That will tie Alvarez to the club until 2028, and the forward revealed his delight at putting pen to paper.
He told City’s media team: “This is a very proud moment for me and my family. For a club like City to put their faith in me like this is amazing.
“I have been really pleased with my first season here, but I have plenty more I can do. I know I can be better, and City offer me everything I need to fulfil my potential.

“I want to thank the manager, the coaches and everyone at City who works behind the scenes for everything they have done for me since I joined in the summer. I could not have asked for more.
“This is a club that looks after its players, and I have felt so supported throughout my time here.
“I am now focused on getting better and helping City win trophies.”
Alvarez joined City in a £17million deal last summer and has mostly acted as an understudy to the prolific Erling Haaland.

It did not take him long to make a good impression on manager Pep Guardiola, who praised his performances last August.
He said: “I knew him in a bit from the TV, the clips at River Plate – I am surprised how good he is,’ Guardiola said. ‘All of us are impressed how he is as a centre forward, the work ethic and many things.
“Definitely when Erling doesn’t play, we will play Julian, I am pretty sure.”
