Marcus Rashford goes from ‘Theo Walcott to Pele’ as he follows up horror miss with worldie as Man Utd lead Real Betis

MARCUS RASHFORD made up for missing a sitter by scoring a wondergoal against Real Betis.

The in-form Manchester United forward missed a host of chances in Spain… culminating in an effort blasted MILES over the bar from inside the six-yard box.

But Rashford made amends just moments later, and in some style, by hitting one from outside the box into the bottom corner.

The England international got the ball out of his feet and nestled one into the corner of the net.

And it left fans failing him online as United took the lead in Spain on the night to make it 5-1 on aggregate.

One said: “Rashford went from Walcott to Pele in around 60 seconds!”

Another added: “From Walcott to prime Pele in a matter of minutes.”

One joked: “Only Rashford can give us Walcott and Pele in space of 10 seconds.”

Another said: “Rashford with another goal right out do the Pele/ Maradona playbook there.”

United progressed through to the quarter-final stage after convincingly beating Real Betis over two legs.

And Erik ten Hag praised Rashford for his perseverance.

Speaking after full-time, he said: “Rashy missed some chances, but he keeps belief, keeps trying.”

Captain Harry Maguire added: “It’s been a good two games over the two legs.

“Betis are a good team they’re fifth in La Liga. We knew it wouldn’t be an easy draw. They came at us and threw everything at us.

“But we expected a fast start from them. We knew if we didn’t concede in the first 20 minutes it would have been a big part of the game well done.

“In the second half we controlled the game really well, we got the goal we deserved and after that we played well.”
