LEICESTER CITY are set to complete the signing of Brazilian winger Tete from Lyon until the end of the season.
The Foxes have got in ahead of a number of Premier League clubs who have been tracking Tete, 22, since last season.
West Ham, Leeds United and Brentford have all shown an interest, but Tete is now expected to seal the deal with the Foxes by Monday after flying in on Saturday from France.
The forward has been on loan at the Ligue 1 side from Shakhtar Donetsk since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, with FIFA allowing foreign players to suspend their deals with clubs in the country.
FIFA’s ruling has complicated the move as it expires at the end of the season, meaning Brendan Rodgers will only be able to sign Tete until the summer initially.
An agreement has also had to be reached with Lyon over the termination of his loan.

Tete has six goals and three assists in 17 Ligue 1 games so far this season and will add much needed firepower to the Foxes forward line.
Meanwhile, Leicester’s interest in Tottenham right-back Djed Spence has hit a snag.
Spurs are reluctant to include an option to buy.
And it’s understood Brentford have already had an approach for the 22-year-old rejected.
