Norwich manager David Wagner lining up transfer for Middlesbrough’s Tommy Smith as top clubs circle for Max Aarons

DAVID WAGNER is lining up a reunion with Tommy Smith at Norwich – if Max Aarons leaves in January.

New Canaries boss Wagner was appointed earlier this month after Dean Smith was sacked.

He is assessing his full-back options in case a big offer comes in for Aarons during this transfer window.

Premier League outfit Fulham were among 14 clubs from home and abroad who scouted Aarons in Saturday’s 4-0 victory at Preston to move Norwich up to seventh in the table.

The in-demand full-back is under contract at Carrow Road under the summer of 2024.
