ERIK TEN HAG SAYS his Manchester United side have learned their lesson from a derby drubbing and are now ready to face their neighbours again.
The Red Devils were 4-0 down at half-time at The Etihad back on October 2nd before going on to lose 6-3 and are now seeking revenge when the pair meet again in the Saturday lunchtime kick off at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag said: “After the game I expressed honestly that it was a lesson and we took that lesson and from that point on we have made huge progress so we have to continue the progress.
“That game was a setback, we can all find reasons why but always you have to act, to deliver, as a manager, a coach you have to take certain steps, you need a clear philosophy, a clear point where you want to go, direction.
“Then it is about development and that is what we did but like many things in life particularly football there is never an end point.
“Tomorrow we have to do better. We know what we have to work on. There was a process in the last months and now we have to face it against the better teams and it is about the mental approach and attitude so we have to be brave, act with belief and play our game.”

While United are on an eight-game winning run, City suffered a midweek setback when they were knocked out the Carabao Cup 2-0 by Southampton.
But Ten Hag said: “Of course we notice that they had a setback and of course I have seen the past weeks, many games of them, but we have to look at ourselves and play our best game, it is all about us.

“The opponent plays an important role in football but you have to play your best game, that is what I demand of my players, play your best game with full belief, not naïve, and act like a winner.”
