ARSENAL boss Mikel Arteta gave a hilarious response when asked if his team celebrated Manchester City’s loss to Brentford.
The Gunners were handed a major boost in their pursuit of the title when Ivan Toney netted in the 97th minute to secure a shock 1-2 win for the visitors.
Arsenal won 2-0 at Wolves to extend their lead to five points at the top of the table and after the game Mikel Arteta was asked if his side had an eye on City’s defeat.
He confirmed that the whole squad watched the game together on their way to their late kick-off and the Spaniard was then quizzed on their reaction when Toney scored his second.
Arteta said while laughing: “As you can imagine.”
It meant the Gunners secured pole position at Christmas for the first time since 2007/08.

There was no time for celebrating though as an inspired Martin Odegaard scored twice to give his side a cushion at the top.
Arsenal have won 12 of the 14 matches this season losing just once, to Manchester United.
They continue to profit off a few sloppy results from Man City who have now dropped points to Brentford and Aston Villa.
Pep Guardiola’s men have won the league in the last two seasons and were many people’s favourites to make it a third but they will have to hope Arsenal can’t continue their outstanding run in the new year.
