Liverpool star Alisson Becker looks unrecognisable after shaving off iconic beard for Southampton clash shocking fans

LIVERPOOL goalkeeper Alisson Becker decided to ditch his iconic beard for his last game before the World Cup.

The 30-year-old Brazilian has been superb between the sticks for the Reds this season despite his team-mates’ struggles further up the pitch.

And Liverpool fans will be hoping Alisson’s beard isn’t the inspiration for his good form.

Because the Anfield stopper took a razor to his facial hair before today’s meeting with Southampton.

He looked almost unrecognisable without his usual bushy beard.

Supporters were left in awe after seeing the Brazilian ace sporting a clean shaven look.

Another said: “The way I gasped when I saw Alisson without the beard..”

A third quipped: “Alisson without a beard is just not right.”

And after seeing the beardless goalie, one joked: “Ain’t no way this is Alisson.”

Luckily for Alisson, his lack of beard didn’t prove to be a bad omen.

His Brazilian pal Roberto Firmino gave the hosts the lead just six minutes into the game.

Alisson has been included in Brazil’s squad for the World Cup, which gets underway a week tomorrow, while Firmino missed out.

Southampton levelled just three minutes later in Nathan Jones’ first game as boss.

But a Darwin Nunez brace saw the Reds seal a 3-1 win.
