PSG owners Qatar Sports Investment add to football portfolio as they buy 22% share in Portuguese side Braga


PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN owners Qatar Sports Investment have added Braga to their football portfolio.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, QSI have bought almost 22 per cent of shares of the Portuguese outfit.

Romano tweeted: “Not just Paris Saint-Germain. Qatar Sports Investment has now acquired a minority stake in Portuguese club Braga.

“Qatar Sports Investment will have 21.67% of the club.”

Braga bigwigs are thrilled with the new deal as it “safeguards total decision-making autonomy” of the current administration.

The club’s president Antonio Salvador is hopeful that this new partnership can help the Primeira Liga team evolve and added that it is a “great day” for the club, the fans and the city.

Salvador said: “We believe that this is the ideal partnership to accelerate our growth and expansion, helping us to achieve fantastic potential as a club.

“It is a great day for our club, for our fans and for our city, as we look forward to the many future successes of SC Braga.”

QSI chairman and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is determined to help Braga grow.

Al-Khelaifi is “proud” to invest in “an exemplary Portuguese institution, with a proud history and a huge ambition and reputation in pursuit of excellence on and off the field.”
