NEWCASTLE have put Elliot Anderson on a £30,000-a-week deal.
Toon are eager to keep the 19-year-old Scotland Under-21 ace so have paid out first-team cash.
Anderson excelled on loan at Bristol Rovers during the second half of last season.
The midfielder struck eight goals in 21 outings for Joey Barton’s side, playing an integral role in their dramatic promotion.
Rovers won 7-0 on the final day to snatch the third and final automatic promotion place – with Anderson grabbing a goal and two assists.
Upon his return, boss Eddie Howe has set about integrating him into the first team at St James’ Park.

He has made four Prem appearances so far this term, including a 31-minute cameo during today’s 4-1 battering of Fulham.
Anderson also started the 2-1 League Cup victory over Tranmere in August.
After today’s emphatic triumph at Craven Cottage, Howe lavished praise upon his players.
He said: ” It has been a long time coming.

“We have had a long wait for the second win of the season.
“Right from the start we had a good feeling, with good energy, and created chances early on.
“Obviously the red card made it easier but I am very pleased with the players’ response.
“Their attitude – we wanted more, we weren’t happy with what we had, always trying to score.”
Howe, 44, then added: “It’s been a very difficult two weeks, obviously we have had the international break with players going away, but we have also had a bit of illness in the camp, so it’s been a mixed two weeks but it didn’t show in our performance.”
