Fans hail Martin Skrtel ‘a warrior’ after Liverpool legend in sickening clash of heads with Man Utd’s Fraizer Campbell

LIVERPOOL fans were once again wowed by Martin Skrtel’s bravery after their former hard nut suffered a nasty head injury… in a legends clash.

The centre-back returned to Anfield for the first time since his 2016 move to Fenerbahce for the Reds’ charity match with their fierce rivals Manchester United.

Skrtel was applauded off the pitch as he was replaced by Momo Sissoko and received heaps of praise on social media.

One fan tweeted: “Martin Skrtel. Still a warrior.”

Another said: “Martin Skrtel, has and will always be a fighter and a warrior.”

Another said: “Martin Skrtel didn’t have hair during his playing days but has a lot of it now for the Liverpool legends!? Crazy.”

“I don’t regret it because I played here for eight-and-a-half years and it was the best time of my career and in my life because my son was born here.

“Liverpool will always be in my heart. It’s not easy to stay in a club like this for such a long time so I’m proud of that.”

“I was happy in the club and the club were also happy because we extended the contract two or three times.
