And ahead of the game Ronaldo took to Instagram to post a selfie with his bags packed for the trip in the background.

The Red Devils forward posed in an eye-catching pair of pink sunglasses, paired with a United training top.

His stunning partner, Georgina Rodriguez, commented a love heart emoji underneath his post with Ronaldo set for a couple of days away from home.

Despite being yet to score a goal in all competitions this season, Ronaldo still appears to be in good spirits on social media.

His pink sunglasses post followed a snap from earlier in the week of Ronaldo in training, which he captioned: “Starting the week with a good feeling!”

Ronaldo was also pictured giggling in training at Carrington after a private chat with boss Erik ten Hag.

The boss pulled Ronaldo for a chat which resulted in the Portuguese ace cracking an ear-to-ear smile.

Tonight’s game against Moldovan minnows Sheriff represents Ronaldo’s best chance to register his first goal of the campaign.

He has fired a blank in the only two games he has started, against Brentford and Real Sociedad, while he has also failed to have an impact when coming off the bench.

Ronaldo looked destined to leave in the summer after asking to leave Old Trafford so he could continue playing Champions League football.

He eventually stayed put but has been out of favour under new manager Ten Hag.

However, as revealed by SunSport, he will push for a January exit after losing his place in the team to Marcus Rashford.
