FORMER Formula One team owner Eddie Jordan has claimed Lewis Hamilton is no longer the top dog at Mercedes.
The 37-year-old is a seven-time world champion, but has not enjoyed the 2022 season so far, sitting 75 points off the pace set by Max Verstappen.

The season’s form has lead to questions over Hamilton’s dominance of the sport, and now pundit Jordan has claimed his loss of form has lead to a changing of the guard at the German constructor.
Talking to Channel 4, the 74-year-old was asked about Russell’s step-up from Williams to Mercedes, and whether he had met expectations so far.
He said: “Absolutely, I think it’s the big surprise for everyone in the world, in the context of those who thought that Lewis Hamilton is the best”

Now though, 24-year-old Russell has taken the fight to Hamilton, controlling the car’s numerous issues far better than the seven-time champion so far.
The former Williams driver has beaten his teammate in every race since the opener in Bahrain, taking his place on the podium twice.
The pair will currently be preparing for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, which takes place on the 12th of June.
