SunSport understand the 54-year-old and his son Miltiadis, who has been involved in the day-to-day running of the club since the start of the season, recently met with the team’s CEO and manager at the training ground in Wilford Lane.
They held a meeting to discuss what players are needed to give them the best chance of survival ahead of the club’s Premier League return.
Marinakis is also expected to splash over £2million on the club’s training pitches, which will be renovated “from scratch” before next season.
