Real reason Dillian Whyte broke media boycott for Tyson Fury fight revealed as challenger’s mum given Wembley tickets

DILLIAN WHYTE only agreed to help flog Saturday’s Tyson Fury showdown to guarantee his beloved mum ringside tickets.

The 34-year-old Body Snatcher blanked a month’s worth of build-up as his team was rowing over the details of the contract with Frank Warren.

But headway was made at the start of fight week and Whyte has starred in Zoom calls, exclusive SunSport interviews and a press conference.

And the overdue mandatory challenger to 33-year-old Fury’s WBC heavyweight crown revealed one of the main reasons he has been a media darling is to make sure his own one-true love has one of the best of 94,000 seats in Wembley.

He revealed: “My team managed to sort a couple of tickets out for her eventually,” he revealed. It’s one of the main reasons I have ended up doing media.

“They finally sat down like adults and got stuff done and now, God willing, my mum will be there.

“My mum and sisters don’t get involved in the boxing side and they get really nervous around my fights.

“My mum just told me to remember where I am from, what I am about and stay true to myself.

“That’s what my mum always says to me.”

Jane, a hard working nurse who has refused to retire even though her son is a pay-per-view star, can even take credit for Whyte being such a well behaved boy when Fury’s dad John almost sparked a melee on Wednesday by confronting her son.

He said: “You only have one mum and whatever my mum says, I listen to.

“When I was younger I never listened to anything she said, it’s strange how you realise when you are older that they were right, so now I listen to everything she says.

“Before the press conference she said: ‘son, behave yourself and don’t do anything crazy’.

“I promised her I was cool and relaxed.”
