FORMER Formula One boss Giancarlo Minardi has said four-time champion Sebastian Vettel “should retire” after he had a performance to forget in the Australian Grand Prix.
The German returned to the grid after missing the first two races of the season due to Covid-19.

Vettel was then deemed guilty of speeding in the pit lane.
And between him and his Aston Martin team-mate Lance Stroll, the pair crashed FOUR times across the weekend.
The last of which led to Vettel retiring from Sunday’s race on the 29th lap.

Speaking to Corriere della Sera, Minardi, 74, said: “He was unlucky to have missed two grands prix because of Covid.
“But he should retire. He has a lot of money, he has won titles and he will never win again.”
Vettel says his crash in Australia was a result of him wanting “too much too soon” on his return.

He said: “[It was] maybe too much of a handful for me today.
“I tried to push a little bit too hard and obviously lost the car.
“Overall, obviously we know that the car is difficult and maybe I was wanting a little bit too much too soon and obviously I lost it a couple of times this weekend.”
