But Rudiger will be seen as the biggest loss because of his ferocious attitude, experience and leadership qualities.
Chiellini has played more than 400 league games for Juventus over 18 years and is still considered a key figure in Turin at the age of 37.
The plan is for him to play one more season while helping Rudiger settle into the club.

They want the veteran to help Rudiger adopt the mentality that has brought Chiellini nine Serie A titles.
Rudiger is believed to prefer the offer from Juventus over those of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has admitted he does not want to lose him — but the two parties look destined to go separate ways.
